The Laundry Game

Whenever we have epic amounts of laundry or whenever I Just. Want. To. Get. It. Done. and motivation on all our parts is low, we play THE LAUNDRY GAME!

Basically it's sanctioned running through the house :D.

I station myself at the numerous baskets and fold fold fold. The children line up, I hand them an article of laundry and they're off. If it's theirs or the baby's they put it away, otherwise they put it in the general vacinity of the dresser/closet.

When it's all folded they each go to their rooms to put their clothes in drawers etc.

The kids LOVE the laundry game. It really motivates them to get it done.

We started this game last year when I was pregnant :)

That sounds like fun, I'll give it a shot!

Seriously anytime we have the kids help with laundry it's groans all around. I don't mind folding it's the putting away that tends to not happen. So is your game a sort of race to see who can do the most or who can get it done faster? I wish I could do this but I think I may be a bit late for this.
sigh.

I came over from "ship full of pirates" (via moneysavingmom, I think) and just had to comment. I have 5 children: a 7 yr. old boy, 6 yr old girl twins, and 5 yr old boy twins. On laundry day at our house, the kids are required to get all the laundry from two floors of the house down to the basement. They throw (and sometimes steamroll) the 12 loads down to the basement. It takes about 30 minutes, but they have FUN! And I don't have to carry all that stuff down 2 flights of stairs! They get to the end and wallow in the pile-disgusting, but hey they are helping! After its washed, sorted, folded there is usually some complaining about putting it away! All opportunities for training, I guess. But, I say whose clothes are these? Who wore them? They see the point...
