More Pictures From the Feast

End of Unit Celebration

We have joyously been using Tapestry of Grace for history. Last night was our Medieval Feast. The children worked very hard to put this on. The "folks" came over and were active participants. Present were two kings, two queens, two ladies, a few squires (who were later knighted) and some peasants. The children presented the information they had learned on feudalism. We had a knighting ceremony and a jousting tournament. Our feast was served in three courses with presentations and entertainment. After dinner our guests were entertained with a story and games. Everyone had a wonderful time.

The Beginnings of My Rug! :D

Look What We Did Today!

Katrina has been wanting to make a rag rug and I have been wanting her to knit more, so we compromised and made this "spool" knitter. It is basically a toilet paper tube wrapped in purple duct tape :). She has been "knitting" away and I hope to have a nice new rug for my laundry area in the next week or so.

Getting Ready For Our Medieval Feast!!

Time is running out and we are doing all the last minute things to get ready for our Medieval Feast this Sunday. Posted by Picasa

A Deceiver, a Liar, a Hypocrite and Very Human

Humans are so weak.

People think Christians are perfect and infallible.

Here's some news: We ARE weak. We have many, many faults.

Just like everyone else.

The difference I suppose is that we have a high standard of living. And although we know we cannot reach the standard Jesus set for us, we should at least try. We aren't perfect and we don't pretend to be. We just try to be what Jesus wants us to be.

We suffer temptations. With God's help we are strong and resist. But the pull of this world is so strong we sometimes get lost.

I would like to say that the accusations toward Ted Haggard were false and cruel. They were cruel but unfortunately not false.

Let's think about it. This man who came forward risked himself as a drug dealer and prostitute to bring this man down. I am almost positive he was put up to it. A man deep in the dark cannot have the intelligence to see the far reaching effects of coming forward.

God loves even that man.

Which sin is worse? The man who came forward or the man who fell?

I am sure Ted Haggard struggles and knows he is a hypocrite and he struggles with that as well. Stepping down from leadership was the Biblical thing to do. Firing him from his job was also the Biblical thing to do. Recognizing he needs help is a humble act. I pray he gets it

I am sad, disappointed and afraid. And that was just the intention Satan had. There is no doubt this is the work of Satan on a man's heart and a ploy to destroy weaker Christians. So after about half a day of dumbfoundedness and despair, I know God is a God of mercy and forgiveness. We have no hope except in HIM live a righteous life. And when we fall, he will lift us up.
